Huawei introduces the $250 Honor 6x with dual-lens rear camera

Camera has been the prime focus in the recent offerings from Huawei, so much that the basic lineup too now has a camera upgrade. The Honor 6x is official, and if you’ve been following the developments of Huawei in the recent past, you’d have expected what it packs when it comes to the cameras – a dual-lens rear camera setup. Yep, the same setup that you’ve seen in the flagship series, then in the Honor mid-range series and now in the successor of the well-made Honor 5x.

The Honor 6x comes with a 5.5-inch Full HD display and it runs 4.1 version of the company’s EMUI over Android 6.0 Marshmallow. According to Huawei, the phone will get an update to Android N and the EMUI 5.0 version soon, and you don’t have to wait for long.

As for the camera, which is likely the under to be under focus, it is a combination of a 12-megapixel RGB sensor and a 2-megapixel monochrome one, which works together to bring out wide aperture shots. Though, the difference from the other Huawei phones here is that you would find a 12MP monochrome sensor in them unlike the 2MP one here.

The device is powered by the octa-core Kirin 655 processor along with 3GB of RAM and 32GB internal storage, with a MicroSD card slot offering the storage expansion by another 128GB.
